The Tri-Cities Community Foundations (TCCFs), which includes the Coquitlam Foundation, Port Coquitlam Foundation and the Port Moody Foundation is proud to announce it has granted close to $600,000 to support local charities responding to COVID-19 as part of a partnership with Community Foundations of Canada, United Way Centraide Canada and the Canadian Red Cross, funded through the Government of Canada’s $350M Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF). This vast national effort seeks to support vulnerable populations disproportionately affected by COVID-19. TCCF are three of more than 100 local community foundations across Canada taking part.
The TCCFs added an additional $140,000 of funds for our community which was raised for their Tri-Cities Covid-19 Response Fund, http://tccommunityfoundations.ca/ . On May 2, 2020 the TCCFs held their first ever ‘Stay at Home Gala’ event to raise these funds with our generous donors such as Marcon, Maxine Wilson, Sharon Perry & Associates, Aultrust Financial, Moody Centre TOD, Event Sponsors, Silent Auction donors & bidders, and caring residents, combined with a $90,000 grant from the Vancouver Foundation. The total funding for COVID 10 response Grants between April-July 2020 reached $600,000 and was swiftly granted out to assist our Tri-Cities charities.
Tri-Cities charities can now apply for grants through the ECSF website .

Many people in our community have lost their jobs or had a big cut in their income, and are having trouble paying for basic necessities and caring for their families and loved ones – we don’t know when this will change. Many of the support organizations in our community who would typically help residents in these times of crisis are also hurting because donations are down substantially.
We are creating a Tri-Cities Community Response Fund to help these not-for-profit organizations so they, in turn, can help the people in our community who need food, family or individual supports or other essentials in these challenging times. All proceeds will stay within the Tri-Cities to help local residents. Please give if you can.

WE’VE LISTENED TO OUR COMMUNITY, AND WE’RE RESPONDING
The Tri-Cities Community Foundations are responding to COVID-19 by raising funds. As part of a National Movement of 191 Community Foundations across Canada, we are kicking off our campaign with a “Stay at Home Gala”. (more info below)
We have heard concerns from charities, non-profits of the adverse economic effects of COVID-19 on their operations.
We see a great need throughout the Tri-Cities already in critical care and supports for our community and feel we have a responsibility to respond.
We want to combat the social distancing effects in our community and the isolation of vulnerable people in our communities.
The Tri-Cities needs a united front to respond TOGETHER. We will direct funds and donors to the right need at the right time.
Tri-Cities Stay at Home Gala May 2nd, 2020
A night to connect, unite, and nourish your community.
